How do i change my boot drive if i already have 2 copies of windows on my pc?

I just recently bought a new SSD for my pc. I watched a YouTube video and was told to clone my boot disk to my new m.2 if I wanted to copy all my data onto it and make it boot from there. I cloned my SATA SSD and all its data onto the m.2 SSD but when I went to change the boot drive in BIOS or in the msconfig menu the m.2 SSD wont show up. Should I just unplug my SATA drive and hope it logs in windows with my m.2? What do I do?
