I bought a lenovo thinkpad from woot and the screen is black, has only mouse pointer what is wrong?

I bought a lap top from woot and was setting it up when for some unknown reason I got locked out of my microsoft account. after I finally got my account unlocked I went back to trying to set up the new laptop, but it now only has a blank black screen with a working mouse pointer. My microsoft account shows that this computer is registered to me, but I cannot get it to do anything. any help?
