Ethernet pings work, but can’t share files on private router less network with static IP.

I have the following NetworkEthernet LAN connecting 5 PC’s (star)No router, no wireless access point, no internetStatic IP addresses using 192.168.1.0/24No DHCP“Hosts” file on all PCs edited with IP/HostnameNo gatewayNo DNSNetBIOS over TCP/IP checkedFirewalls turned offNetwork/File sharing onI can Ping in all directions on all computers.But I can’t share files or see the other host names from any of the computers.Can you help?Thanks
