Does having the Network Profile set to Public on my laptop influence how often my IP address changes?

I have recently had my laptop re-setup, and where previously the Network Profile was set to Private, it has been changed to Public.I have noticed my IP address is changing more frequently than previously, sometimes daily, which is a pain as my IP address is used for data access. (I'm in the same location each day). Are these connected i.e. does Public profile rather than Private profile have any impact on IP address change frequency?
