Error 0x0071771. Can you please help me get my access back for these locked files?

I recently had to transfer all my files to an external drive, and also to a new desktop. My previous employer then took back the work owned machine. Importantly, I was the admin acct on that machine, and had no problem accessing these files on that laptop.I am unable to open any of the files on desktop, they give me the Error code 0x0071771. The files show a image with a lock on it. Can you please help me get my access back for these files?
