Cannot get sticky notes to appear from a saved plum file

Hi, so I have tried various ways to transfer my sticky notes onto a new computer. I have the plum file, and I copy and paste it where it belongs but for some reason its not restoring my notes. I have tried reseting and uninstalling sticky notes but the problem remains the same. Is there a way I can get the info from the plum file so I can just copy and paste the individual notes?
