Is it possible to use an older version of Media Player with Windows 10?

Recently, I noticed when burning music CDs using Media Player, it burns them as CDA files, and not WMA, which is what I always used. The problem with CDA files is that no matter the length of songs, it compresses every one down to a minute 1 KB. Neil Young would go ape-sh*t over this travesty (smiley face). I first noticed this because CDA compresses files so much that you no longer visually see how much space they occupy on an 80 minute CD.
