I am trying now for the past week to add a family member to my account.

I am trying to add a family member to my microsoft account. Keep on getting the message that something went wrong.If i want to verify the account i just never receive the code to do so. Been trying on phone and pc, same result.I changed a password on another account and received those messages almost instantly. So why is adding a family member so difficult? Seems like microsoft is blokking it. Because i can create a new non related account no problem!
