Will files from an external hard drive be deleted when I reinstall Windows 10?

Moved all the files I needed to the external hard drive and forgot to remove it, started a complete reset of Windows 10 to factory settings, checked the "Clear all drives" box. I remembered about the external hard drive only at the stage of returning the computer to its original state, when the process was at 30%, and extracted it manually. Will the files on the external hard drive get erased?
