Start button and task bar not working. What is the solution?

When I click the start button, it doesn't work. If I try to search for programs or files in the search bar next to start button, that doesn't work either. I also realized that I can't use the search files search bar on windows explorer as well. The other options on task bar like wi-fi etc. also doesn't work. Everything else looks fine for me. Please help.
