Recent update bricked my laptop twice in a row

Hi,A recent Windows update has effectively bricked my laptop twice now. After it installs, the processor goes to 100% and the laptop starts freezing up or crashes. Upon restart, the logo appears and that's it, only black screen afterwards. The first time I had to manually turn it off by pressing the power button. After doing this three times in a row in attempt to resurrect the laptop, I got a message that "Windows could not be deployed" and some options appeared.
