Disable middle mouse button altering sensitivity

Hi,I have had my wireless mouse for years, so long I can't remember what specific make or model it is. Control panel simply shows it as "HID-compliant mouse" with manufacturer "Microsoft". The middle mouse button cycles through 5 sensitivity profiles. I would really like to disable this but can't find a way how. I've tried poking around in the settings to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?
