How to prevent my windows 10 laptop from shutting down randomly ?

My laptop shuts down when i play high end pc games and games which requires good graphic memory. It also shuts down when i am downloading a large file from chrome. I think it shuts down due to overheating because my laptop is actually older than me. It doesn't have a good processor but 6GB ram.
