In explorer Ctrl-D is not working as Microsoft says in the list of keyboard shortcuts

Re: Windows 10 21H2 19044.2846I was in Documents and accidentally hit Ctrl-D. The list of folders jumped up. At that point I realized something was deleted. It did not go to the recycle bin as the Microsoft page on keyboard shortcuts says. I then made a test folder and repeated the disaster. The folders are permanently deleted without any warning.Is there something in my settings or configuration that might cause this or is this just how Explorer works now?Thank You
