Receiving Error 0x8007007A: "the data area passed to a system call is too small" when trying to backup files unaffected for ten years

I am trying to back up my files from my primary "C" drive to my internal backup drive and receiving Error 0x8007007A: "the data area passed to a system call is too small" . All of the files blocking my backup have been fine for 10 years and now won't copy. Help! There is a closed post from last year pertaining to this same issue, but I'm seeking a real solution. Thanks!
