How can I get my hp envy to boot up. It runs on windows 10. It takes me to a menu where I can reset to safe mode but it wont recognise my microsoft pw

My hp envy wont boot up. It runs on windows 10. It takes me to a menu where I can reset but it wont recognise my microsoft pw to get me into run in safe mode. Changed my pw, still wont accept. Effectively I am locked out of my computer.
