Trying to tell windows to open files in Media Player

No, not Windows Media Player, with the icon that depicts a few empty CD cases with an orange play button on it, but simply "Media Player" as it's referred to on my computer. The copyright information says it's a Microsoft product, though.there's a certain way this "Media Player" interacts with mp4 files I want to make use of, so I renamed the file extensions of some files to a custom one (.loop), and then opened it so I could tell Windows to always open files of that type in Media Player.
