I work from home, and have both a Windows machine and a Linux machine in my toolset, regularly using both. I typically have the Windows PC as my front-end machine with easy access to whatever windows-ish programs I have installed. With Cygwin installed, I SSH into my Linux (Ubuntu) machine as needed. Until recently my windows PC was a Dell 8300 originally running W7, with the free-upgrade from years ago making it W10. The Linux PC runs Ubuntu 18.04LTS, and is a much more powerful/newer machine.
