I just (theoretically) moved my Documents folder from C: to D: drive, but it still appears is C: Can I erase the folder in C?

I just transferred my Documents folder from the System drive (C:) to my second drive (D:).The computer showed that all of the contents of the folder were moved (I watched the process), and the folder now exists in D: The problem is that it was NOT erased from C: (and the reason that I wanted to move it was to free up space on that disk.Can I now erase the folder on C: without causing serious problems?
