I have a little NAS server for files backups which is occasionally switched off. When it is off a few bits of software are extremely slow to browse for files. For example, it can take a minute to show the contents of a local folder and if I'm wanting to navigate through several folders it takes several minutes. If the NAS server is connected this slowness is completely gone. Most of my software isn't affected, I've no why idea particular apps are affected.I notice massive slowdown when using Maya and Cubase VSTplugins. I use Maya for work and it's getting most annoying.
