Esc key spamming by itself

Hi , so I have a pretty old asus rog laptop and sometimes the esc key keep spamming by itself , especially when the system boots up and while gaming or doing other stuff. I cannot blame it on my external keyboard because this happened to me on 2 different external keyboards. The problem lasts a few seconds before it stops and sometimes pressing the esc key on my laptop keyboard temporary fixes the problem (not always).(sorry if i am in the wrong category)Anything I can do about it?
