I was trying to upgrade the storage in my computer. I used gnome-disks in a Ubuntu installer disk to try to copy my data to a img file. I first tried to shrink my main partition and canceled it after it took too long. Then I copied program files, program files x86, and users to my backup disk. I installed the new SSD and Windows 10 onto it. I copied over my files. Everything won't open. Excel spreadsheets containing all of my passwords, financials, everything can't be recovered. I desperately need help because I can't lose this, and I need to know what's the best route to go for file recovery.
