Why won’t my alphabetical keys work?

Hello, so yesterday I tried to enter my password on my laptop, and noticed that none of the alphabetical keys showed up in the password, but the numerical keys did. (my laptop keys are not damaged), I’ve also tried to use the on-screen keyboard but it still won’t type in the alphabet. I have a Hp stream laptop
