how to downgrade to windows 10

I find I need to downgrade from Windows 11 Pro back to Win 10. YouTube shows various methods, the simplest of which appears to be nothing more than downloading Win10 to a flash drive and installing it. This, it seems, would keep all files and applications in a Win.old folder. Other videos describe much more complicated methods involving buying an external hard drive to store all old files and apps.I'd like an expert opinion before I make a mistake. Can I just reinstall Win10?
