How to find my missing documents after onedrive

I tried to sync one of my folders using the "mklink" method with OneDrive. After I discovered that it failed, I canceled the sync. However, I later found out that my entire folder has been emptied, which contained 3 years of my work and study materials!!!! I am desperately trying to recover these files, but I couldn't find them in OneDrive or the Recycle Bin!!!! SOS!!!
