Got new harddrive from friend, have a driver error, try to boot in safe mode and his password doesn’t work, can’t go to normal windows because of blue

So, my friend gave me a new harddrive because mine crapped out, it was all going well until I got a blue screen, system thread exception not handled. An easy fix, researched it, but when I got in safe mode, it asked me for his password, so I used the only one he’s ever used, and it didn’t work, no variations work, and he’s never had a different password, frankly, I’m stuck. I think it’s a Microsoft account, not a local account, if that helps at all.
