Password box is not appearing on their domain computers after waking from being in locked mode

I have several users reporting that the password box is not appearing on their domain computers after waking from being in locked mode. Group policy requires our pc to be locked after a certain number of minutes. Users click Control+alt+delete to unlock. They can see their user name but the password box never appears. They only thing that we can do is reboot from the bottom right corner of the screen. How can I fix this? I have some very frustrated users including the CEO.
