How do I get Security Intelligence Update to properly install?

For months, my computer has been trying to download and install the Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.39X.35.0). It gets to about 66% and then conks out. Each time I turn on my computer I have to wait for this process to complete and it never does. If I cannot get it to download - how do I stop it from trying to update?
