Windows 10 cant connect to update service.

I have an old windows 10 laptop (Acer Aspire One 1-431) i havent used since 2020 (last update) and when i try to update it it says it cannot connect to the update service with no other error messages.I have tried both the network and update troubleshooters both of which say that there isnt any problems.I have also made sure that the Windows Update service is running and set to automatic in th services app but that doesnt seem to work.
