I am trying to reset my laptop login password as I have forgotten it. It's telling me to reinstall Windows, but I do not have my C: drive backed up.

When I click on reset password, it is giving me the following message: Your PIN is no longer available due to a change in the security settings on this device. You can setup your PIN again on this device using Settings -> Accounts -> Sign in options.The issue is that when I click on "reset password", it is saying that I have to enter a USB flash drive with the Windows Media Creation Tool installed. If I reinstall my Windows this way, I will lose all data that I have on my C: drive. I have never created a backup for C: drive. Is there any way to fix this? That I can reset my laptop login
