This horror appeared out of nowhere without warning and took over the old "Legacy" app I was perfectly happy with for it's simplicity and efficiency. I uninstalled it in my shell with apex whatever, which unfortunately also deleted the old app. I reinstalled the Legacy Photos app, and when I opened it a message said my data (photos) couldn't be imported, and that I HAD to update to the new one. I opened a photo which came up in the Legacy App as that's all that was installed, and it's the damned new one overriding the old one! You have instructions all over the place for using the old "Legacy"
