What to do after getting infected.

Hello last night my friend asked my to run a file for him so I did. My pc ran slower but I didn't think much of it now I'm stuck here 10:23Am after Malwarebytes detected 4 files and removed it I don't know what to do now. I don't have my desktop it says C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable all my taskbar icons are gone. What should I do should I restart my pc? safe mode? And is the virus 100% removed.
