Im unable to oppen settings due to administrator restrictions

So basically, I was gifted a Lenovo ThinkPad from a company I did work experience with, and I haven't been able to open settings due to administrator restrictions. I have tried updating drivers to see if that may aid the issue but to no avail, and I also have no access to control panel. Is there anything I could do? or would I have to contact the company over this matter? Thank you :)
