Activating HDR in Windows 10 Bricked my PC

I recently purchased a new monitor with HDR support. I read online on this microsoft site to turn this on to go to the settings under display>HDR off>on. I switched to on to wait for a pop up message to say apply or maybe a warning saying "this system does no support HDR under current settings" . It did not give me a pop up window to test this for 15 secs as like ALL display changes do under control panel, instead my screen went black, with no display. My monitor even came up with a warning message " no input detected switching to power save mode". I even waited a couple of minutes
