Taskbar setting reset on boot

Windows 10: Right click your Taskbar and select the lowest option in the pop up menu (Taskbar settings/ has an gear wheel icon). A Window opens with several boxes to select. The second box sets teh Taskbar to auto hide in desktop mode. This setting always resets on a restart. I always want my Taskbar to auto hide, but after ever reboot i have to open that menu and retick that box. Having to turn it on every day is infuriating. Why doesnt Windows remember it own settings? I even tried to write some Powershell code with autorun on startup, but im **** at coding and it doesnt work... Just for fun
