Sculpt ergonomic mouse suddenly scroll does not work. Less then a year old

Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse purchased less then a year ago with keyboard. The scroll suddenly no longer works. I have restarted the computer, disconnected it, changed the batteries, powered on and off, cleaned the scroll. Nothing is working.
