How do I decrease the width of the task bar to its normal state?

I am using Windows 10 Pro up to date, but for some reason the taskbar is wider than it should be. It is not locked but I cant collapse it to the minimum width for some reason. I can only drag it upwards. Any suggestions? Also, small icons are turned off, these are the normal sized icons, but I cant drag the taskbar more down still. Picture of the problem:
