Windows 7 to 10 Upgrade freezing on update portion, how can I fix this?

I tried upgrading my windows 7 laptop to windows 10 with the windows 10 installation media, now I'm stuck in recovery mode without an administrator account, and because of that I can't do anything on startup repair except reset it and get the same error/freeze again, how can I fix this?
