PS4 Controller only registering as audio device

I have reset the controller with the pin hole button on the back, I have gone into audio settings and disabled the speaker and mic (though it seems to enable itself every time I reconnect the controller) I swear I've done everything. Everyone says in control panel there should be a "wireless controller" with a speaker icon but mine has a controller icon and still is not working. I'm very confused on why I can't get this to work.
