Windows is blocking me from upgrading drivers direct from AMD

Hi, My lap top is freezing up constantly and Microsoft looked at my error logs and said a driver is causing the freezing up. They said go direct to AMD and download the upgrade. I tried but AMD says Windows is blocking it. They said to change one setting and I tried but that setting is locked apparently Administrator permission isn't good enough? You would think since you bought the computer that you could do anything you choose? I guess I paid for it just to have someone else actually own it. I am so tired of spending hours and hours getting the run around and following all the instructions.
