Laptop won't turn on and stay on unless its plugged in? No low battery warning and suddenly shut down

hi so my laptop won't turn on if it's not plugged in with the charger, even though I still have 50% battery. Once my battery dropped to 30%, it immediately shuts down with no warning and then it won't start and won't stay on without charging. Tried to pull out the charger again once it's charged to 40% but laptop immediately shut down again. Please help
