Windows update assistant not working

When i try and update my windows manually it shows i am up to date but when i tried to install minecraft it showed my windows is not up to date and will run windows update assistantThe update assistant showed that there was an update available which will take 90 mins but i will have to restart, when i restart my laptop through the update assistant it just does a normal restart and does not update the windows i have tried to do this multiple times but still same result.Please help me resolve this issue
