Windows 10 search - always indexes files in OneDrive even though properties set to exclude OneDrive.

I wish to exclude OneDrive from the search indexing process.I have some hidden folders on OneDrive but they and their contents are always indexed.I have set the advanced properties to "excluded" and applied the setting to the contents of the OneDrive folder. I then rebuilt the index. But when I search for a file or folder I know is on OneDrive it finds it.In Explorer I have set hidden folders to visible. I don't suppose that has anything to do with it, has it?
