how to cancel a drive in use

i am trying to burn a cd on windows 10/11. after a failed attempt i am trying to burn again and when i got to press “start burn” a notification pops up that @windows media player cannot burn to the disc because the drive is in use” i’ve waited multiple minutes like the directions say but i don’t know what project the drive is working on and how to cancel it so i can continue my burning
