Windows color management denying me access to change system defaults, any ideas?

My monitor has software to use for calibration, so need to uncheck the use window display calibration box (which is currently greyed out.I have been told in order to uncheck it I must go into change system defaults, but it is denying me access. I am using the write admin password so that isn't the problem. I have also tried turning my other display off in case that was effecting the settings, but that did not work either.Has anyone got any Ideas of what else I could tryThanls
