Switch display from the login screen

It used to be possible to switch display using Win + P while on the login screen. This is useful if you sit at your computer and realise it's connected to a projector or such and you can't see what you're doing to log in. Also handy if a display breaks on your laptop etc.Now this is no longer possible. Is this an intentional change, and is there a way to reenable this?
