Unable to sign in to emails - error message does not help.

I am operating on Windows 10 at the moment. I have 2 email accounts, one to outlook.com and one to btinternet.com. As of today, 21 May 2024, I cannot sign in and my emails have stopped working. Error message: 'Attention required' then 'please update the password for this account'. Cannot do this for either account - tried a few times but security code cannot be sent to my emails, and on the one occasion when I was able to receive one (to my phone) I entered it but nothing happened and all emails appear to be locked up.
