Just got a new PC, I set up my mic and I can hear perfectly fine but it's not picking up my mic

Just got a new PC, I set up my mic and I can hear perfectly but when it comes to speaking I can't hear myself my input is set to stereo mix (realtek audio) and that's the only option and all it does instead of picking up my voice is that it only plays audio from my computer such as notifications and videos not my voice I've tried fixing the connection and going through audio settings
