Sudden and unwanted switch from Word 10 to Microsoft 365

I use Windows 10. I like the normal Word program on Windows 10 and I use it for everything. Suddenly, every time I open a document it doesn't open with the usual WORD box, but with 'Microsoft 365'. The tools at the top of the page are different, and they are more primitive than the options in normal Word. It does not matter that ALL my documents are saved to my computer or pen-drive as normal Word documents. They open as Microsoft 365 and I can only work using the Microsoft 365 toolbar for documents.
