Trying to remove account from family group, but cannot access old organizer account.

We're trying to remove an underaged account from our old family group to remove parental controls/time limits. However, we can't access the original organizer account since the email linked to that account is unavailable (it was linked with Cox but we've since switched providers years ago). We have tried logging into the original organizer account but it says that we need to wait 30-days for a "security info change." For now, as an alternative, we've set the underaged account that we're trying to remove as an administrator to see if it'll bypass.
